What should I get?

I dont know if this would be appropraite but the teacher I had last year in 11th grade I got really close to. I am trying to figure out what I should get her for her upcoming birthday. She is turning 29 years old. I was thinking about taking her out to lunch but not sure considering the fact that I dont drive right now and I would need a ride lol and another thing I dont know if she would wnat to. Also I was thinking about making her a special cake and sing happy birthday to her in the morning during her prep period on her birthday. Last but certainly not least I heard that she loves to knitt anyone have any ideas on waht I can get for her that involves knitting. What do you think.? She knows me pretty well so...... Should I ask her to pick from one of these things. i was also thinking about getting her a book or something. She is an awesome teacher and has done alot for me and i would like to show that I care about her in a friend way.
