LAP BAND Surgery Requirements?

Can anyone tell me about the Pros & Cons of Lap Band Surgery.... I barely meet the standard requirement for the surgery... It notes you should have a BMI of at least 40 with no underline issues or you can have a BMI oj 35 with 2 underline issues ..... I am at BMI of 34.1 with moderately high blood pressure & moderately high cholesterol - You think I could still get the surgery since I'm almost there?
